Crested Butte Home

The original home, completed in 1987, is an interesting design with many 45-degree angles. While the interiors inspire delight, the exterior was left flat with a single-color paint scheme and an afterthought of a garage. The client uses the home for a family vacation/gathering space and needed some extra sleeping quarters that they wanted above the garage. As a part of the addition, we were also tasked with designing an updated exterior scheme that would add more emphasis to the front entry. In trying to keep as much of the existing garage foundation to limit costs, we only extended the footprint to the east but in rotating the angle of the new roof we wanted to better compliment the other roofs on the house. The client loved the final design and the project is currently under construction.
